Shop safety

One time many years back my brother had an old 1977 Cutlass. It was a beater he got from his girlfriend's brother at the time. He was in the process of working on and he had taken the carburetor off to work on it. His girlfriend (now ex) at the time went to use the car when he wasn't around. You might be able to picture the rest. The car was toast literally afterwards thankfully no one was hurt. It was kind of humorous but brings up the more serious issue of safety(and peerhaps communication but that's another story) when working on vehicles.
Mathew Wright(of About.com) brings up some good pointers for shop safety in this article. I hope you enjoy.
